VIRGINIA BEACH - A young woman apparently was strangled to death by her 13-foot pet python while trying to administer medication to it, police said. The victim, 25-year-old Amanda Ruth Black, was found by her husband late Tuesday night, lying on the floor in front of a large, empty snake cage in an upstairs bedroom of her Virginia Beach home, police spokesman Adam Bernstein said. It’s kind of sad how all the news articles are trying to portray the snake as some kind of ruthless killer that was hiding in the corner to evade capture. Even sadder that the animal was put down, but I understand why her husband felt it necessary. I just don’t believe it solves anything other than a need for some kind of vindication.
